Product Description

Now our most popular and top performing running computer is enhanced with GPS speed and distance capability

Amazon.com Product Description

A smart, intuitive training computer for runners and cross-training athletes, the Polar RS300X G1 wrist heart rate monitor helps you to train at the right intensity with personal training zones. This version of the RS300X comes with Polar's G1 GPS sensor, which provides speed/pace and distance measurement for outdoor sports such as running or cycling. It's a great choice for those who mix up their training regimen with cycling, inline skating, paddling, mountain biking or hiking.

The RS300X helps you to train at the right intensity with personal training zones.

This RS300X G1 comes with the G1 GPS Sensor.
Additionally, the RS300X G1 is compatible with the separately available S1 foot pod, which accurately measures your running speed/pace and distance. Committed runners will find the most value in the real-time pace and distance measurement of the S1 foot pod. And even though it attaches to your shoe laces, it's so light that you'll forget it's even there, which means it won't affect your running performance. This package comes with the Polar WearLink+ 31 coded transmitter (with changeable battery).

Polar RS300X Models
  • Basic RS300X
    -- black and orange
  • RS300X SD with S1 foot pod for real-time pace/distance
    -- black and orange
  • RS300X G1 with G1 GPS Sensor for cross-trainers
    -- black and orange
The RS300X G1 enables athletes to train at the right intensity and improve their performance through core metrics such as heart rate, speed, distance, pace, and calorie burn. Advanced features include Polar's exclusive OwnZone feature for individualized zone training by heart rate or pace, a fitness test, and auto lap splits, which display average heart rate, pace and distance per lap. Athletes can easily review up to 16 past workout files to check their progress and ensure they're staying on track with their fitness or training plan.

Features include:

  • Heart rate displayed as percentage of maximum heart rate, BPM, and average heart rate of total exercise
  • Tracks your latest 16 training sessions and your last 16 weeks of training
  • Visual and audible alarm in target zones: Informs you every time your heart rate and/or speed/pace exceeds the upper limit or falls below the lower limit of your target zone during a training session.
  • Polar OwnIndex Fitness Test calculates aerobic fitness (comparable to maximal oxygen uptake, VO2max) providing a reference to base training intensity and measure improvement.
  • Polar OwnCal: Shows your energy expenditure during one exercise session as well as your accumulated kilocalories during several exercise sessions. Because the OwnCal tracks both the energy expenditure during one exercise session and the accumulated kilocalories during a longer time e.g. one week, it helps in achieving both short term and long term goals.
  • Time in Target Zone feature calculates the amount of total training time spent in your personal target zone. You can use this feature together with the Total Exercise Time to determine the effectiveness of your training program.
  • Number of laps - 99
  • Watch features: alarm with snooze, dual time zone, stopwatch
  • Compatible with Polar FlowLink (available separately)
  • Water resistant to 50 meters
  • Backlighting, display zoom
  • Event Countdown Timer: Keeps your motivation high by showing how many days are left before your next running event (e.g., Berlin 23 days).

I love this thing! The custom zones are great. Had my zones and VO2 levels tested at the gym and my trainer was able to set the watch to MY zones. This also allows me to see a more accurate calorie count.

A couple notes that didn't keep me from giving it 5 stars, but just to keep in mind:

1. The orange is MUCH brighter than on my screen. Think, street construction cone orange. It's much more neon orange.

2. The G1 GPS Sensor is AWESOME on most days. I recently ran with it on a very cloudy/rainy day and it completely lost track of the signal. I haven't used the footpod, so can't compare, but I may end up buying it for use on cloudy days.

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed that I lose HR signal frequently, January 19, 2011
This review is from: Polar RS300X G1 Heart Rate Monitor Watch with G1 GPS Sensor (Orange) (Sports)
I'm a beginner athlete when it comes to monitoring heart rate and calories burned... I bought this watch due to design and ease of use. My biggest disappointment stems from the fact that the watch and HR strap stop communicating while I'm exercising... so I lose the HR and the calorie count is off. The signal re-connects at different times but I end up losing part of the workout. I have the strap tight and positioned correctly, and always wet the sensor area prior to using. Not sure if this is a common problem with all monitors, but has been extrememly frustrating for me.

I bought this watch for my wwife. It's a good watch if you can get over the color. It's definitely not a fashion statement but it does measure heart rate and distances traveled accurately. The only flaw I have noticed is that it does not display the time of day while in exercise mode. I also use the footpod with this watch and it has been a great tool for the times I run on a treadmill.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great product, April 27, 2010

This review is from: Polar RS300X SD Heart Rate Monitor Watch with S1 Foot Pod (Orange) (Sports)
I purchased this watch after running my first marathon and having a conversation with a guy during the race, who was wearing a polar watch. It really came in handy during the race to make sure we were on pace for our goal. Using a standard watch is nice but as we all know, race mile markers aren't certified and therefore your splits will be off. The footpod is great but you absolutely need to calibrate it. Not sure if its my stride but it was not very accurate out of the box, I ran a half marathon (13.1 miles) and it registered about 14.5 miles. The menus are fairly easy to figure out but I did need to consult the user manual a few times. I personally love the fact that you can customize and switch between 5 different views on the fly while running. The heart rate monitor is your basic type and works well. Overall, I would say this product is worth it if you do longer races including or above a 10k or if you train by yourself. Having the information this watch provides is great for... Read more

3.0 out of 5 stars Confusing and doesn't do what I expected..., January 12, 2011

This review is from: Polar RS300X SD Heart Rate Monitor Watch with S1 Foot Pod (Orange) (Sports)
I've been researching HRM watches for a while and decided to try this one out (ultimately I went with the Garmin FR60). I had the Polar F6 before this and was pretty happy with it...until the HR strap went out and I found out that the only way to replace the battery was by sending it back to the manufacturer. I thought I would have a pretty easy time with this one since I've had a Polar before, but that was not the case. It has a very complicated user interface and I could not figure out how to get the calories to display for each individual workout. Instead, the only thing I could get was a total of the calories burned for the week - so I would have to subtract the previous amount in order to figure out calories for that day. In addition, the foot pod is really large and though you don't really notice it when you run, it definitely gets in the way otherwise. The Garmin foot pod is very small so I'm not sure why Polar's is so monstrous. The watch is also really big and it is... Read more
