2.0 out of 5 stars Built not to last, June 27, 2010
I really wanted this HRM watch from Suunto to work, but after only 1 lite workout, the face was already marred. I may have bumped up against some equipment, but nothing that should have left a marked. I have two other Suunto watches, dive computers, and they are indestructible. These watches have been hit up against rocks and metal with some slight scratches to show for it. Bottomline, while the functionality is there, this watch is isn't worth the money due to the poor quality of materials used.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great watch, September 16, 2010

I've owned several suunto watches for different purposes. I've never been disappointed at all. Most of the complaints are about the scratching of the face. I buy face protectors and I never have an issue. I'm currently using this watch with the foot, bike and pc pod and I love it. It tracks all my running, biking and weight training info. Get a suunto and you will love it.

(REAL NAME)
For years, I struggled with a Polar heart rate monitor. I would have to wet the strap, sometimes wait up to 20 minutes for it to "warm up" and detect a signal, and endure constant signal "drop outs" creating large gaps in my training data. Eventually, I'd had enough, and decided to try this particular watch out because it was on sale at REI. I've been using it for three months now and I'm extremely satisfied.

First, the watch looks really nice. It's very slim and doesn't scream "training computer," so it's definitely suitable to wear at the office, while traveling, or pretty much anywhere without looking out of place.

When you put the heart rate strap on, the signal is picked up immediately. I haven't had to dampen the electrodes or wait for it to warm up; you simply put the strap on, turn the watch to training mode and you're good to go. The signal is extremely solid; you can do pretty much any physical activity in this thing regardless of how much it... Read more
