Great running tool, June 17, 2010 By AmazonAddict (London UK) - See all my reviews This review is from: Womens Garmin FR60 LTD Monitors (Electronics) This was the first Garmin HRM/watch I'd bought after having 3 different Polar products over the years. Having replaced the battery in my Polar HRM three times in the last 6 months, I decided it was time for a change, so I decided to give this Garmin a go. I've had it about a month and I love it. It's user friendly and has lots of neat features including the ability to upload data to your computer to analyse your exercises. You can personalise a lot of the settings so that, for example, it shows pace or speed as you run, and you can get it to 'lap' automatically every mile/kilometre so you can compare pace.
I considered getting a GPS watch but I run on the treadmill a lot anyway and I don't mind so much not knowing the exact route I've taken (I know that anyway!), and this watch still tells you distance, which is what's important to me.
The first chest strap that I got didn't work properly but the Garmin customer service was excellent - they replaced it within... Read more

Garmin FR60 Review, November 19, 2010 By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Garmin Forerunner FR60 LTD Edition Bundle with Heart Rate Monitor: Men's; Black/Blue (Sports) This is my very first purchase over Amazon... hesitate initially but decided to go ahead as the Blue color FR60 is not available here in S'pore.
The FR60 is my very first HRM running watch. Was deciding between a GPS one or one with foot pod. After reading some good reviews on the FR60(esp a good writeup by DC Rainmaker); I decided to go for the FR60.
The FR60 didn't disappoint me... is simple to setup & ready for use with ease. I didn't calibrate the foot pod & was pleasantly surprise of its accuracy after I decided to test it out on a track on my 3rd run with the FR60. After 2 rounds, I would said the difference is within 10 meters variation. Fantastic! The foot pod itself is small & light & the bundle chest strip is comfortable enough.
I like the auto scroll features which allows me to select data to display on the watch. Transfer of data to computer is simple with the wireless ANT+USB stick. Provide useful info such as HR, speed, pace etc... Read more

Great Training Tool - Calibrate and Beware of Calorie Count!, December 30, 2010 This review is from: Garmin Forerunner FR60 LTD Edition Bundle with Heart Rate Monitor: Women's; Pink (Electronics) I bought the Garmin FR60 after having owned several Polar HRM's. I was very disappointed with Polar's quality and durability. The FR60 is excellent! This HRM has a lot of great features and is also very user friendly. I'm not very tech-savy so I thought it would take at least an hour to set up, and weeks to get used to. But within 10 minutes of opening the box I was out exercising. I also got the foot pod to help with pacing on long runs. After calibrating on a track the distance and pace calculations were right on - I can't imagine running without it. Out of the box, the device overestimated distance by about 0.1 mile for every mile...not a whole lot but when you think you ran 12 miles and you actually went a little under 11 it can bum you out! The only down side to this product is that the calorie counter overestimates by about 1/3. It took me several months to figure this out. In the summer months I calorie count to make sure my nutrition matches my training volume, and in... Read more
