Combining stylish looks with power sport timing and heart rate monitoring features, this larger Timex Ironman Triathlon watch (model T5C411) can be worn by both men and women. It features a chest strap heart rate monitor, easily accessible function buttons, and Timex's comfortable doubleshot polyurethane strap. For integrating heart rate monitoring into your training, this watch enables you to track your avareage heart rate and pre-set target heart rate zones with data for time spent within that zone and alarms. It can also display data for calories burned and offers a recovery timer that measures your heart rate after a timed recovery during or after your workout. Sport timing features include:
- 100-hour chronograph with lap and split, either in large digits
- 30-lap memory with average heart rate per laps
- 100-hour, 3-mode countdown timer
- Alarm with 5-minute backup
- Month/day/date display with 12/24-hour time
- 3-year battery life
The Indiglo night-light uniformly lights the surface of the watch dial using patented blue electroluminescent lighting technology. It uses less battery power than most other watch illumination systems, enabling your watch battery to last longer. The Night Mode feature allows you to illuminate the Indiglo night-light for 3 seconds with any button press, regardless of the mode or function. The watch is water resistant to 50 meters (165 feet)--suitable for swimming but not for diving. All Timex heart rate monitor sensors have batteries that can be replaced by consumers without requiring them to be returned to the manufacturer.
- Sports timing watch with heart rate monitoring; sized for both men and women
- Chest strap heart rate monitor works with watch to provide target zones and time in zone
- Recovery heart rate timer; displays calories burned

Easy to use, inexpensive, and durable, August 22, 2006 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Timex Ironman T5C411 Unisex 30-Lap Digital Fitness Heart Rate Monitor Watch (Watch) This is my first heart rate monitor and after a lot of searching, I selected this one. I am not a Tri-athlete Olympian, just an average guy who runs about 3 times a week. So I wanted something an average person would actually use. I wanted to improve my running ability and heard a HR monitor was the way to go. I checked out other brands such as Nike and Polaris, but they all seemed too complicated and bulky. That being said, I was looking for a basic, easy to use (Not complex), inexpensive, and sturdy HR monitor. Well the Timex 5C411 fit all of my criteria. This HR monitor is very easy to use and aesthetically pleasing as well. The basic functions can be learned very quickly (Especially for anyone who's owned a Timex Ironman watch). I got them down after one use. Can't beat the price and Timex is known for "Takes a licking and keeps on ticking." There is only one thing I wish was a little different. When using the chronograph, the HR appears in small numbers above the... Read more

Great watch for someone who likes to keep track of their workouts too!!!, October 6, 2005 By This review is from: Timex Ironman T5C411 Unisex 30-Lap Digital Fitness Heart Rate Monitor Watch (Watch) This watch is perfect! I use every one of the functions through out the day, and use the fitness features while working out. From keeping track of time in two time zones to timing between sets and monitoring my heart rate I use it all!!! This is the simplest watch to use with all of these functions, and the display is layed out practically and you can modify it to your tastes. All in all, the best watch I've had in years. Oh, it doesn't look to bad either; although it wouldn't be too appropriate for a night on the town it still looks good. It was surprisingly small for all the functions it carries. If this thing ever breaks, I'll buy another one right away!

Excellent Value, June 18, 2006 By Amazon Verified Purchase I often use Consumer Reports when buying products, but the last review of heart rate monitors (HRM) was a couple of years ago and many tested models were discontinued, and the existing models were unattractive, so I had to choose one on my own. So far, this watch and HRM have worked without issue.
Pros:
- Looks great
- Inexpensive
- Accurate (via my own informal tests)
- Comfortable
Con:
- Need to dampen heart rate monitor contacts before using (very minor)
